Need to know

    Traveler Responsibilities

We want you to have an experience that you’re happiest with and find that our clientele are most satisfied to secure the following on their own, based on their own, individual needs:

    Breakfast

Check lodging options to see if your selection includes a continental breakfast or has complete kitchen facilities to provide for yourself.

    Evening meals

Explore the local dining options on your own or depending on the lodging options fix your “catch of day” at your place.

    Airport Transfers

You’ll need to arrange airport transfers to and from your place of lodging with local taxi or shuttle services if not provided by your lodging options. Arrangements can be made online.

    Air Travel

Direct and connecting flights between Seattle and Sitka daily with Alaska Airlines or Delta Airlines.

    Sitka Sales Tax

Sitka sales tax will be added to the total charter rate and any additional services purchased.

    Gratuities

    Gratuities are greatly appreciated.

Please pay by check at the completion of your charter.

We are not set up to accept credit cards and we pass the savings on to you in the rates that we charge.

    What to Bring

The weather on the ocean can change rapidly and one must be prepared for conditions ranging from warm and sunny to cool and rainy, or from calm to windy. We highly recommend dressing in layers to meet these changing conditions.

    • We can and do supply rain gear, though we encourage you to bring your own for that custom fit.
    • Proper footwear. Boots are not necessary, but shoes in which the bottom half are waterproof are recommended.
    • Hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, as even on a cloudy day the sunlight is especially bright on the water.
    • Camera!

    Seasickness

Seasickness is a miserable experience that can be avoided. Even experienced captains experience seasickness the first time they board their vessel each year. Unless you are 100% certain you will not become seasick, we strongly suggest to visit your family doctor and bring prescription seasickness medication with you and take it for your first day on the water. Our experience is that over the counter seasickness medications are of marginal value.

    Luggage

A word of advice….pack light, a carry on only if possible, as you will want to check your fish boxes as luggage for your return flight home. Check with Alaska Airlines for their current baggage allowance and fees.
